Junior/Trainee Developer

We are looking for a Junior/Trainee Developer to join our team to help develop our product and services. It is an exciting time with new product development in an invigorated market environment.

 

Responsibilities

  • You will be dealing with hands-on problem fixing and troubleshooting, testing new features and starting to develop certain aspects of the system under the guidance of the existing development team. Support (to our clients) is generally provided remotely, although on occasion there will be the opportunity and requirement for face to face meetings with our clients.

  • The candidate will be expected to be a quick learner, as they will face a variety of challenges requiring hard work and initiative to meet business objectives. Go Auction is a highly supportive organisation and the candidate will be given training by virtue of an induction and teamwork, but it is expected that the successful candidate will be able to work independently and solve a variety of technical challenges individually.

Essential experience and qualifications

  • 1 to 2 years of professional experience in a similar role OR a recent college/university graduate looking for a great first step on the career ladder within IT
  • Experience with / or an understanding of C# (.NET), MVC, Javascript, CSS, JQuery, SQL Server, Azure
  • Great communication skills (in person, digital and via telephone), excellent written and spoken English is essential
  • The successful candidate will be a punctual and thorough worker, with astute attention to detail
  • Any IT qualifications will be an advantage, but not essential
  • Valid UK driving licence is also preferable, but not essential
  • All technical staff are given a thorough aptitude and technical test during interviews, so please be aware that this is part of our common employment practice.

 

Specifics:
Full-time, Permanent. The role is 5 days a week based around 9 to 5.30, with some evening and weekend work required. Salary: From £22,000/year (based on skills and experience)

Go Auction’s office is in Nantwich, Cheshire but this role affords the opportunity for flexible working options including home-working, although some time in the office or travelling for team meet-ups will be required. There is also the opportunity for the role to be based in the Nantwich office, if this is preferred. Go will ensure that a mutually beneficial working practice will be established.
